If you know anything about 906 Engineering, you know about our product line of aftermarket snowplow controls. Now, we are spreading our wings (and tons of salt) and flying directly into our latest business venture; aftermarket salt spreaders controls. Just like our snowplow controllers, our salt spreader series is a durable, reliable and an economical alternative to the OEM controllers. With the use of wire adapters, they can be installed easily and we even added a few features that the OEM’s don’t offer. 906 Engineering’s team has worked with and designed several salt spreader controls for OEM’s in the past (this is not new to us) and we have taken that knowledge to develop these products. We call these controllers, the Black Box Spreaders. Black Box Spreader designs shown here are subject to change at any time.

BBS-500 Series

The BBS-500 Series controller is our tailgate salt spreader controller. Even though it is smaller, it still has a lot of great features. Variable speed, 2 blast settings, diagnostics, pause and more are all packed into this smaller enclosure. Compact (4” x 2” x 5” Deep) in size and adjustable mounting options, allows this controller to be mounted in most locations in a typical cab.

BBS-700 Series

The BBS-700 Series controller is our larger salt spreader controller (6.5” x 2“ x 7 “ Deep) and it works with many of the larger truck bed salt spreaders. This controller has all the features listed earlier and it also includes 2 accessory hook-ups. This Series control has the ability to work with chain style spreaders or with corkscrew style augers.

BBS-900 Series

The BBS-900 Series controller is also our larger salt spreader controller (6.5” x 2“ x 7 “ Deep). This controller is set up for truck bed salt spreaders that are equipped with a Pre-Wet system. Hook-up is easy and it eliminates the need to have a separate control just for the Pre-Wet. The 900 has all the same features of the 700 Series, except it only has 1 accessory hook-up.

Mounting Options

The Black Box Spreaders product line of controllers each come with a U-Shaped metal bracket that allows the control to be mounted on the dash or under the dash.

Harness & Wire Adapters

Each control in the Black Box Spreaders product line has a 6” wire harness that extends from the back of the box (not shown in this literature). To work with any given OEM spreader, a wire adapter will be supplied with the control.

Which Salt Spreaders?

Currently, this product line works with a select group of OEM salt spreaders. Over time, these controllers will be made to work with more spreader brands and more different models. Contact us, for a current list of OEM salt spreaders that are compatible with our controllers.
